Hello! I’m Arthur.
I’m a 17-year-old student who has a passion for civil engineering, especially the use of deployable structures in disaster zones. Recently there has been growing concern that the frequency of extreme hazards will increase in the future. I love using maths to try to solve real world problems, so I started Deploying Depth, a project to look at this topic in more detail while asking the fundamental question of whether origami-inspired structures can realistically have the load-bearing capacity for this application.
This site documents ongoing independent study alongside formal academic work in mathematics and physics.
